Workshop in Westlake: Staying Independent Through Aging: Building Your Independence Tool Kit

My Life Quote by Katheryn H.

Everyday 8,000 people turn 65 in America. Today older adults live longer in reasonable health, longer with more health issues, and longer in a home alone than ever before. Most Older Adults say they want to live in their own homes as long as possible, but 50% of seniors said they haven’t planned for their own futures, and 73 % of adult children say they have neither thought about nor planned for the care of their aging parents. This raises serious challenges for anyone hoping to age independently. That’s what the free course, “Staying Independent Through Aging – Building Your Independence Took Kit” is all about.

The most cost-effective way to avoid calamity is for seniors and their adult children to educate themselves about how to plan for what may lie ahead, understand the many options available for every challenge and the costs of what’s available today. This series features collaborative sessions by 12 experts in from hospitals and area senior care initiatives.

The course, “Staying Independent Through Aging: Building Your Independence Tool Kit” topics are:

Crucial Conversations: How to Get what YOU Want

Get Your Stuff Together!: How to Create Your Independence Road Map
